Let's Try to Figure Out What this New Nora Ephron Movie is About

Julia Child is an American woman who moved to Paris, went to culinary school there, and later became a famous and beloved chef, author, and television personality.

My Life in France is the name of Julia Child's autobiography

Mastering the Art of French Cooking is the name of Julia Child's most famous cookbook. It contains 524 recipes.

Julie Powell is a woman who began writing a blog in 2002 about her attempt to cook every recipe in Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes*, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen is the name of a book by Julie Powell that she adapted from her blog.

Julie & Julia is a movie written by Nora Ephron about the year Julie Powell spent writing her book.

Finally, just so we're all clear, Julie & Julia is a movie based on a book about a blog based on a book by Julia Child. Oh, and also it's partly based on another book, Julia Child's autobiography. Here's the trailer (can't embed):
In the interest of completion, what you are reading right now is a blog post about a movie based on two books, one of which is about a blog based on a book by Julia Child, the other is the autobiography of Julia Child.

The movie about this blog post will be called Corey & You. I will be played by Mark Ruffalo, you will be played by Rachel Bilson, my blog will be played by John Lithgow, and Meryl Streep will be reprising her role as Julia Child. Lithgow will open the movie by reading this post. That will be followed by an hour and forty minutes of Meryl Streep saying dirty words and phrases in her hilarious 'Julia Child with a pinch of Ms. Doubtfire' voice.** Rachel Bilson and I will have sex off camera, but you'll know what's going on.

*     *     *

* Here's a recipe: Start with a generous helping of Meryl Streep , add a little Nora Ephron, pepper it with lines of dialogue like "I could write a blog! I have thoughts!", throw in a few scenes of four women eating lunch together and you've got a movie that I will never ever ever see ever and briefly made me consider quitting blogging altogether because people who write blogs can be such insufferable pricks. Instead, I embraced my inner prickliness and wrote this post. You can thank me later.
** "I need to find something, TO DO!" You didn't watch the trailer, did you? This footnote and that Ms. Doubtfire joke would've been much funnier if you had.

Corey, you and your blog are the worst things that ever happened to the other members of my Epi project group. It is amazing, you live 3000 miles away and you are still screwing my grades as much as you did when I spent 4 hours a day sitting next to you in the backseat of Ryan/Jose 's car. Also I think I deserve recognition for "Most Ferris Blogs read in short duration." I polished off 2008 and most of 2009 in the last 24 hours. The rest of 2009 should be done before my monday final. God my summer has been terrible.

Had I of read that post while under the influence of some kind of drug, I think it would've totally blown my mind on several levels.
